The final tune today is from the American Indie-Pop singer-songwriter Alex2e. He recently released the mid-tempo, feel-good tune entitled “Crew”. This song features a lighter side of indie-pop as it features an acoustic guitar, an interesting electric guitar riff, a synthesizer, and percussion. It is very light, with the percussions taking most of the lead, as the melody is mainly present in Alex2e’s smooth vocals. Because of the light-hearted vibes between the vocals the instrumentation, the song is so refreshing, yet it also features an ear-pleasant melody.
My favorite part is the bridge as the electric guitar plays an interesting melody with the vocals. It is something different than the rest of the song and it is so refreshing! This change of pace makes the song more interesting rhythmically and melodically.
Of course, the lyrics have their own special quality. “Crew’ is a song about relationship anxieties,” Alex2e said about the song’s meaning, “and finally feeling confident enough to bring your best self to the table.” With the lyrics hitting close to home, interesting melodies, and the light-hearted mood, “Crew” by Alex2e is a must-listen as it will make you feel good on any given day.
