This is a song about letting people fight when they want to fight! I wrote it with the idea that it would eventually accompany a bar fight scene in a movie. It loosely chronicles a night at a local, small-town pub where rising tensions between young guys reach a boiling point, and they get rowdy.
“Let Them Boys Play” is a blend of fun and classic. It features the classic rock sound from the 70s from songs like Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting” and “The Boys are Back in Town”. But, it also has the fun energy that makes it bouncy and danceable. Austin’s vocals are a perfect fit for this classic rock tune as they feature a blend of husky, melodic, and smooth in their tones. If you are looking for a fun classic rock tune to clap your hands to, you have to check out this song by David Austin.

About the Artist: David Austin
David Austin is a San Francisco-born, Nashville-based singer-songwriter. He started writing songs in high school and then attended the University of Southern California’s Pop Music program as a songwriting major. The singer-songwriter has been very inspired by artists like Bruce Springsteen and Billy Joel – genius songwriters that command the stage and have brought their fanbases along with them for life. Austin tours with a 4-piece band, which gives the live set power and groove and turns the whole thing into a big party. Saxophone, guitar solos, organ, and piano.
He put out my first project Southwood Waltz in 2019 and has a new record slated for summer 2022. The singer-songwriter has released three of the new songs already – “Let Them Boys Play”, “Good Company” and “Alone for Now (Maybelline)”.
