Welcome back to the fifteenth day of 25 Days of Christmas. Here on ai love music, let’s celebrate this warm holiday season by transforming the Daily Feature into 25 Days of Christmas. Each day, we will feature a holiday song from any artist from any genre. Today’s holiday song is “Christmas Time” by Scottish Indie Rock band Forgotten Garden.
“Christmas Time” is an acoustic tune that features light instrumentation yet a gothic mood. The tune opens up with a hypnotic piano playing a repetitive lull followed by subtle strings. The piano is the heart of the song with its spirited performance. The duo is completed with the addition of the female vocals, with their beautiful yet haunted tones. These three parts come together smoothly to create a striking Christmas song.
However, there is a dark element that is embedded in this Forgotten Garden tune. It is found in the lyrics that remind us of how tragedy can come to pass. The poetic words remind listeners that Christmas can bring back memories of the past, good or bad. These stark lyrics are a great contrast to the melancholy instrumentation and vocals. Forgotten Garden’s “Christmas Time” is an attractive tune for this holiday season with its gothic lyrics yet gorgeous muscality.

About the Artist Forgotten Garden
Forgotten Garden are an Indie Rock band (duo+guests) with dark/gothic post-punk tendencies. Occasionally they also wander from the path of post-punk righteousness into the more acoustic territory. The haunting vocals are provided by Inês whilst Danny plays most of the instruments. Both live in the north of Scotland although Inês originally comes from Portugal. They started working together in 2019.
