Today’s Daily Feature is “Got Me Running” by Australian Electropop artist Kodey Brims. The main message featured in the song is all about confronting and recognizing anxiety. This is super important in today’s world and what we are going through. But, another important thing in “Got Me Running” is the vocals. The harmonies that you hear throughout the song, especially at the beginning, are ethereal as they feature high-pitched “oohs”. These harmonies are then followed by the main vocals, which are pretty earthy, colorful, catchy, and full of range.
The instrumentation is as diverse as the vocals. You can hear an electric guitar strummed (and maybe plucked) with fingers over a modern pop synthesized sub melody. You can hear some drum kits, acoustic guitars, bass, and synthesizers throughout the song. But, make sure to listen to the interlude at the end of the song as it something totally different than the rest of the song.
“Got Me Running” is such an ear-pleasing song with its beautiful harmonies, upbeat tempo, lively instrumentations, and colorful vocals. You will especially enjoy this song if you are a fan of Ellie Goulding, Kate Bush, and Maggie Rogers.

About the Artist: Kodey Brims
Kodey Brims is an emotive vocalist with one foot in reality and the other in her imagination. Brims has always loved stories and songs. At the age of 9, she wrote her first song to accompany an epic novel she had written and hasn’t stopped since.
Then her whole life changed when she won a scholarship to study at Berklee College of Music in the United States. Songwriting classes helped her craft honest and introspective lyrics, while competitive college a cappella shaped the vocal landscapes of her songs. After graduating with a Bachelor of Songwriting, the artist spent a year as a working musician in Nashville, Tennessee, and has writing credits with independent musicians Mary Moore and Peyton Gilliland.
Brims currently resides in Madrid, Spain with her wife and two dogs. She received a Master of Music Production from DJP Music School and was a Finalist in the Acqustic Artist Accelerator and TMF European Songwriting Contest.
