Today’s Daily Feature is “No Limit” by the Russian Prog Rock band Quintessence. That concept of “No Limit” is that it’s a story about the destruction of the human personality. This is what the band had to say about the concept:
The image of the protagonist is largely inspired by the heroes of the films “Enough!” Joel Schumacher and “The Joker” Tod Phillips, pushed to the limit by the circumstances when a person becomes capable of killing and destroying everything in his path. In this single, the musicians explore the question of how violence breeds violence.
This prog-rock tune is grandiose. It features big energy in every part: the vocals, the guitar riffs, the bass, and the drums. The guitar riffs are standard prog-rock riffs as they are melodic yet thick and heavy in sound. The true star of the song is the vocals are they are a perfect mixture of haunting, euphonious, and powerful. Don’t miss out on those amazing vocal harmony splits around the two-minute mark.
