Today’s Daily Feature is “Wake Up Sunshine” by Neo-Soul / Contemporary R&B artist Raelle. The song is the title track on the artist’s newest EP. She had this to say about it:
This project represents the closing of a chapter in my life, and I feel like a completely different person from when I first started the project. Many hurtful things have happened in my life, but I have only grown from them, and they have caused me to see things in a different light and to really appreciate and value what I have.
Also, they made me realise that some things just don’t belong in your life, and you need to go out and find what works for you. It is like present me telling past me that you need to wake up out of this life that is not right for you; say your goodbyes and move forward to find what it is that is yours.
This project represents hope, as I move forward with my future, as well as loss as I say goodbye to people and things that no longer serve me but were once all I ever knew. But tomorrow is a new day, and I can decide what I do with it
Gorgeous melodies, soulful vocals, and mystical instrumentation make Raelle’s “Wake Up Sunshine” magical. It is a tune that speaks about finding self-love within one’s self. The artist holds no emotions back as she retells her stories in order to inspire others. Her soulful vocals show a variety of bare emotions in brilliant performances. Her deep vocals are matched with ethereal backing harmonies that contrast beautifully. Finally, the dreamy instrumentation paints mellow musical landscapes of splendid sounds.
Raelle’s “Wake Up Sunshine” is such a beautiful tune that can’t be missed! From its deep messages nestled in its self-empowerment themes to stunning melodies and sounds, “Wake Up Sunshine” needs to be on your playlist today!

About the Artist: Raelle

Raelle is part of a new refreshing wave of Neo-soul artists from London. She started her musical journey as a child growing up in a Jamaican household in southeast London, listening to an array of musical talent, but what really seemed to speak to her was 70s soul. She nurtured this natural interest by attending Live music Jams and jazz nights across the capital, which finally saw her releasing her first single in 2020.

This woman looks so spiritual and strong. No wonder it’s reflected in her music that sounds just beautiful.
This made me instantly relaxed. Her voice with the music… ahhhh is just heaven to my ears!
When music is your real passion and it’s rooted so deep, it’s so empowering. I can see that’s her case.
