The Daily Feature: Take a Self-Discovery Trip With slow ride’s “Trip”

Today’s Daily Feature is “Trip” by English Pop Rock/Alternative Rock band slow ride. This song talks about taking a trip of one’s self-discovery. You can hear this theme throughout the song with such lines as “Taking my time to figure this one out” and “I was made for this.”.

What makes “Trip” such an addictive listen is the unique instrumentation. One will really love the bizarre yet lovable synthesizer bits mixed with the guitar that starts off the first part of the tune. They might be odd, yet they are extremely catchy, grabbing the listener’s attention immediately.

Then there are the little things in the song. For example. the hard, show-stopping guitar riffs just before the chorus. It draws attention as there seems to be a mood change. In the beginning, it was soft and mellow with a chilled mood along with easy-going vocals. Then, by the chorus, the mood shifts to a harsher one with jarring guitar riffs and brassy vocals. the slow ride did an astonishing job with this switch between soft and raucous as it is well-written and very attractive.

With amusing lyrics about self-discovery and fascinating melodies featured in the instrumentation, slow ride’s “Trip” is a song you have to check out today!
