Today’s song comes from a Scottish pop rock/R&B band named Sovirez. The song? “Sat Alone” from their live EP In Sessions (Live). A tune that is filled with so many soothing sounds, “Sat Alone” is so well-written with notes and words straight from the heart. The feelings expressed by the character are honest and straight-forward with nothing holding the person back. Tired of being stood-up by a lover which the main character had deep feelings for, the character finally gains the confidence to say “thanks, but no thanks” and “goodbye” to their former lover, which is expressed throughout “Sat Alone”.
The harshness of these feelings from the main character matches perfectly with the tones found within the vocal part: passionate and confident. The vocals are the key element with their passion and huskiness. This kind of vocals might remind listeners of John Mellencamp, Bryan Adams, or Jon Bon Jovi. Yet, the instrumentation delivers a superb performance as well. The acoustic guitar is worth listening to as it brings a mellow yet soothing vibe that balances out the vocal’s husky tones. Such a wonderful contrast!
“Sat Alone” by Sovirez is a must-listen for its soothing acoustic guitar, its straightforward lyrics about finally having the courage to say goodbye to someone or something, and the huskiness tones of those alluring vocals.
