The Road to Eurovision 2022: Subwoolfer (Norway)

It’s April and we have less than 60 days till the annual Eurovision contest that will happen next month. Get excited! If you don’t know what Eurovision is, I wrote a detailed post about the contest a couple of years ago. I am back with my series “Road to Eurovision”, predicting who will win this year’s contest. Each day, I will feature a song from one of the countries. Then, I will make my own predictions of who will make it to the finals and win the competition. Good luck to those who are competing!

You can check out my commentaries on past years:

Let’s get started!

Subwoolfer’s “Give That Wolf a Banana”

Norwegian pop duo Subwoolfer is representing Norway for this year’s Eurovision with the song “Give That Wolf a Banana”. This is a catchy dance-pop song that is a bit confusing with nonsense lyrics with catchy pop melodies with cascading acoustic folk-like guitars. It is a bit nonsensical, but it is fun with its pop melodies and upbeat vibes. I think it will make it to the finals because it is catchy, fun-loving, and really represents the funkiness/weirdness of the Eurovision contest.

My Eurovision 2021 Predictions

Here are my predictions for this year’s contest. These are my own opinions and I am not getting paid or endorsed for them.

(Note: I changed my prediction for Intelligent Music Project after a week of thinking about the song. I think they will be going to the finals as the song grew on me.)

I have to admit I have never heard of Eurovision! It does sound like a fun music contest!

  2. When you said “This is a catchy dance-pop song that is a bit confusing with nonsense lyrics” I thought “how nonsense is nonsense…?” All I can say is wow. I love the beat, the music… It does make me want to get up and dance, but out of no where they start talking about grandma. Like where did grandma come from?? I was so confused. So all in all you description of the song is accurate… “catchy dance-pop song that is a bit confusing with nonsense lyrics”

This is hilarious – you put so much heart into the Eurovision Song Contest. I still remember it from my childhood when it was a yearly major event. My first magic Eurovision moment were Abba with their song Waterloo 😉
