Today’s Daily Feature is “Music” by Japanese Electropop band SYNC. The energy of the song and the band reminds me of similar favorite acts like back number and Official Hige Dandism. A high-energy pop-rock track, the magic in “Music” lies in its colorful, bright electronic notes. Gleaming electronic synthesizers highlight the melody with the support of an electronic guitar and a drum set. Just listen to the verses with the chords cutting through to add dynamic.
The vocals are a contrast to the powerful synthesizers. They are strong yet soft. However, don’t minimize the vocals as they are full of wonderous tones and range. Just listen to the chorus as the vocalist displays a wide range of notes with ease. These vocals remind me of Iyori Shimizu’s own vocals (from back number) as both have similar ranges, tones, and styles.
I enjoy SYNC’s “Music” as it embodies what Japanese pop-rock sounds like today. Deep synthesizers with a solid drum beat and an air guitar help to support an appealing vocal melody. if you love Japanese pop-rock music, then you have to check out SYNC today!
