“Bananafish” by ENJOY MEDICATION
About the band: Have a glass of Moloko Plus at your nearest Korova Milk Bar and ENJOY MEDICATION with some fancy nu-metal therapy from a band of Alex’s droogs. Real horrorshow.
“A Sailor’s Song” by Michael Dietrich
About the artist: Trying to pigeonhole the German artist Michael Dietrich into the singer-songwriter genre wouldn’t do him any justice. Obviously, his voice and his guitar build the fundament for his music – according to the slogan “a good song always works on an acoustic guitar”. But you can easily discover his love for great rock bands like Led Zeppelin or Deep Purple, as well as epic metal bands like Savatage, Ayreon, and Blind Guardian in his works.
Besides his charismatic voice, his songs are characterized by his versatile guitar playing: on the one hand influenced by artists like Ritchie Blackmore, Yngwie Malmsteen, and Richie Sambora, and on the other hand shaped by his classical guitar education. This makes Michael a much sought-after live and session guitarist.
“Bounce” by SMTC
About the song: “A genre-bending electronic/industrial dance-rock track about picking yourself back up after a bad break-up” — SMTC
“Aracane” by Peacebone
About the song; “
The song talks about anxiety and needing to be free from one’s worries due to pressure that is often overwhelming. The vocal melody is pleasant and bewitching, supported by calm folk-rock verses and powerful guitar riffs in the choruses. Arcane follows a rise in intensity until the end when the tension is lifted, and the outro brings an explosive sense of freedom.” — Peacebone
“Ghost You’ll Remember” by Maxx Gawd
About the song: “This song is inspired by Anime Openings and is intended to be a feel-good track to escape the life around you and pop your head up and down like a maniac” — Maxx Gawd
“I’ll Be Alright” by Starfire
About the band: In 1978, four boys in Ann Arbor, MI, ages 15-17, formed the band Starfire. They had all been in previous bands in the past year or so and had started writing songs. Starting with these and writing more together as a band, they soon had several to work with. They worked on these songs and created a live show in a barn that had been converted into a garage. They became known in the area for having more original songs than many other area bands at the time.
“Running Like The Wind” by Cypress
About the song; “I wrote this song about being there for someone no matter where you are. Was definitely inspired initially by “You’ve Got a Friend” by James Taylor; however, I was listening to a lot of Bruce Springsteen when we produced it, so by the end it had turned into a rock n roll track.” — Cypress
“Night Fever” by Volléstad x Larakay x Skrilla
Giving Up On Love” by Maratta
About the song: “This is a funky upbeat track that has a somber tone perfect for 2021. The contrast between the beat and the lyrics make it a compelling listen in a variety of settings.” — Maratta
